You do not need an invite code to use Lighter DEX any more. Invite-only access ended with the public mainnet launch in October 2025. What exists now is a referral program, live since July 28, 2026: existing users share a code or link, referrers earn 10%, 20% or 30% of the gross fees their referrals pay, and new users get one week of Premium fees rebated on their first $10 million of volume. Because a standard account already pays 0% trading fees, a code does not make Lighter cheaper for most people and does not change how many points you earn. Invite code vs referral code

If a site tells you that you need a Lighter invite code to sign up, its information is from 2025. Go to app.lighter.xyz, connect a wallet and trade.

How the Lighter referral program works

1. An existing user generates a referral link or code from the Referrals page in the app.
2. A new user signs up through the link, or enters the code before their first trade. Attribution is permanent: once a code is applied to an account it cannot be changed, and only referrals from July 28, 2026 onward count.
3. The referee becomes an active referral once they have traded on at least 5 separate days.
4. Each Monday, Lighter calculates the previous week's fees (Monday 00:00 UTC to Sunday 23:59 UTC) and pays kickbacks as L2 transfers in USDC, with a $1 minimum payout.

Referrer rewards: Bronze, Silver, Gold

Tier upgrades apply from the upgrade date onward and are not retroactive; tiers are reviewed on Mondays. "Gross fees" means the premium or Plus account fees your referrals actually pay. If your referrals all trade on standard accounts at 0% fees, your kickback is zero. The program is designed around market makers and API traders who pay premium fees, not around retail.

Referee benefit: one week of Premium for free

A new user who signs up with a referral code gets Premium account fees rebated for one week, covering their first $10 million of volume (maker and taker volume both count). Rebates are paid each Monday. In practice this is a free trial of premium latency (200 ms taker instead of 300 ms) for users who opt into a Premium account; if you stay on a Standard account you were already paying 0% and the rebate has nothing to rebate.

Who should care:

• Market makers and HFT traders evaluating Lighter's premium tier.
• Anyone who wants the 50,000-point weekly market-maker pool, which is reserved for premium accounts.

Who should not care: ordinary traders on standard accounts. Your fees are 0% with or without a code.

What a referral code does not do

• It does not boost points. The points program scores volume, open interest, funding and PnL. Referral status is not a factor. Season 1 had referral point bonuses; Season 2 does not.
• It does not reduce standard fees. They are already zero.
• It does not affect airdrop eligibility. Airdrops were based on points.
• It does not give a deposit bonus. Lighter has no deposit-match promotions.

Wash trading and disqualification

Self-referrals (referring your own sub-accounts or a second wallet) and wash trading between referrer and referee are grounds for disqualification and forfeiture of rebates. Lighter states that rebates are discretionary. The same Sybil detection used for points applies.

How to use referral code APPDEX10

1. Open app.lighter.xyz/?referral=APPDEX10. The code is applied automatically from the link.
2. Connect your wallet and sign the login message to create your account. Attribution is locked at this point.
3. If you arrived without the link, open the Referrals section in the app before your first trade and enter APPDEX10 manually.
4. Trade. If you use a Premium account, your fees for the first week (up to $10M volume) are rebated the following Monday. Standard accounts already pay 0%.

Should you use a referral code?

If you are going to trade on a standard account, it makes no difference to you; using one costs nothing and gives the referrer a potential kickback on fees you will never pay. If you are going to use a premium account, use a code: the one-week rebate on $10 million of volume at 2.8 bps taker is worth up to a few thousand dollars if you actually trade that much.
